What We're Reading: Moo, Baa, La La La

Though Peek-a-Who? has remained on Ezra’s “must-read” list for the past 6 months, a new book, Sandra Boynton’s Moo, Baa, La La La, has taken over the #1 spot.   Ezra loves to imitate the animal sounds in the book.  Having never met a cow or a sheep, his impersonations are terrible.  He does not realize that sheep rarely scream “BAAAA!” as loud as they can until they are out of breath.  I’m sure this would change if sheep realized all the fun they are missing.

Realized after watching your video, that Ezra baaaed and moooed several times. The first thing we did with him was read the barn book while he was still tired. He would hand us the book and say baaa baaa. We thought he was saying book. Guess he was saying read about the farm animals. Great video!!!!

It was possible he was saying book. He does say book when he wants to read, and many of his "words" sound very similar. He definitely knows what he is trying to say. For example, he will point at our tub and say "bath", pick up a ball and say "ball", and point to a balloon and say "balloon," but what comes out of his mouth is "ba[th], ba[ll], and ba[lloon]." He always drops the end of the word so everything must be figured out by its context. It is very French.
